Today is the day that I get to have the camera down my throat and up my butt. Yep, I'm having the endoscopy and colonoscopy done at the same time. I just hope that they don't use the same scope for both procedures! Just kidding.....
Anyway, I'm going to be in la-la land for the day. I think that the "clean out" medicine they give is probably worse than the procedure. I must say that it does a thorough job. I don't think that I would ever want to become a "laxative" addict. I don't like spending hours in the bathroom and am not one who likes to read the newspaper, War and Peace, or anything else while being in the bathroom. It's for getting in and getting out IMO.
I'll catch up with you once I can see straight. And joking about this is fine with me. It seems worthy of a few jokes. Happy Monday.

Oh, Syd, how I know it well! After all I have been through with chemo, etc., the prep for the scopy is one of the worst. It is brutal. Saved my life though for sure. I have to have many follow ups but I think they just finally switched me to every 3 years now. Glad you are having the procedure done. Let me know if they find any polyps or anything.
ReplyDeleteVery smart to have this done on a Monday morning. Now you can enjoy the rest of the week. I am proud of you for being proactive along these lines. These were the sort of things that I would just "forget" in my active addiction...(i.e., not face). Good luck with the results.

ReplyDeleteI've had a colonoscopy too! It's gross and uncomfortable-but could save your life if something is found early enough! I hope they don't find anything of concern Syd..oh...but if they do find a big wallet full of money-it's mine!

I think the gross beverage laxative is the worst part.
It's the "tasty strawberry flavoured!" chalk drink that's the gag-me-with-a-spoon part, imo.
