Monday is a sun day

We decided to spend another day on the boat. It is supposed to be nearly 70 F today so that is definitely beach weather. I have a sore throat and a head cold so sitting in the sun will likely do me some good. I just didn't feel like going anywhere yesterday.

We are having a very late breakfast today. I'm cooking up a cheese omelet, bacon, steak, veggie burgers, and great coffee. Then we are going to row to shore and soak up the sun.

I have been sleeping like crazy out here. It is so totally relaxing. I guess being a bit sick also makes me want to sleep. We did read from the Big Book of AA last night. I'll leave you with a quote from that:

"If asked what the two most important things in recovery are, I would have to say willingness and action........
If willingness is the key to unlock the gates of hell, it is action that opens those doors so that we may walk freely among the living." pg. 317 fourth edition.

Amen to that.

  1. Your galley looks cozy and the breakfast sounds awesome. Things taste so much better out there, don't they? Being willing is a beginning. Taking action is believing. Getting lots of sleep is what you obviously need now. Feel better and enjoy the sun.

  3. Amen, again.... Spring-like here today, too. Low 50's and intense sun. A lot different in New England than it was a week ago. What a blessing.

  4. Sounds like a lovely, therapeutic time. Hope you are feeling much better. I love the sun. We had many days that were gray and cloudy and snowy this years...weeks on in and I was longing for some sunshine. We have had about 3 days now. Feels good. Blessings.

  9. Yep, Step 3 (somewhere) it says, The key is WILLINGNESS"...that's for me.

Then later it says something like, "OK now it's time to roll up the sleeves and get to work." Well, those are MY words, but the meaning is similar!!!

Thank YOU, Syd. Feel MUCH better SOON!

  17. Food sounds great. Sorry for the cold, but enjoy the lake and boat and thanks for the reading. I really like the quote about willingness and action. I think the notion that our way of living is for life and not just until we get through the 12 Steps is a good one and appreciate the reminder.
