Recovery, Unity, Service

I am feeling grateful and filled with so much hope today. It's a feeling of comfort. I couldn't help but think about the AA triangle of recovery, unity and service.

I am hopeful that now our country can start to recover its image abroad and refresh its spirit at home.

I am hopeful that this election brings people of all races, religions and philosophies closer to unity. And that we begin to feel encouraged about the country, and embrace our tolerance and inclusiveness.

I am hopeful that through service at home and abroad, we will do our part to make the world a better place.

  1. got this in my email tody:

Rosa sat so Martin could walk
Martin walked so Obama could run
Obama ran so our children could fly

  2. I am so proud of the young(er) voters who aren't limited by the closed-mindedness that my generation was. I am grateful for choices..mine and ours.

  3. Change - while it has come slowly is good.

  4. Change is never easy, but almost always good.

    Peace and Serenity.

  5. tolerance and inclusiveness.
    Amen to that!

i think its a very exciting opportunity for something good to happen. i don't envy him his job tho. tough! but somebody's got to do it i suppose. its nice to have a shred of optimism after such a heavily criticized presidency.

and thanks for the poem kathy. loved it.
a great vibe all round. very cool.

  6. I feel that lightness today. It seems to be everywhere.

  7. I am feeling a lot of hope today too. I read an article by an expat saying that the world is excited for America too, that it is seen as a victory and "cool" to be an American again because we did do something so potentially transforming. The writer said it seems like the world, despite how it has been hating on the US lately, really wants the US to succeed and step back up into its leadership. Its election of Obama is a signal of hope to the world, the author argues.

    I hope so too.

  8. aaah, on the same wavelength i see

  9. It is going to be a long road for all of us.

  10. I have more hope today thak Ihave in years! I thank you for this post and the reminder that it is a program of action~ KathyLynne, thank you for the great poem!
