Wild weather
We're to have wild weather here today--40-60 knot winds (knock down weather), lots of rain, thunderstorms, and maybe a tornado. Not a good day for being on the water in a sailboat. We were supposed to go to an oyster roast on the island but that's been canceled due to the inclement weather forecast.
I will likely go down to the boat and maybe just stay on board at the marina. I like to make sure that she's riding good when rough weather comes. Plus, it's cozy and romantic to listen to the rain hitting the topside of the cabin.
And maybe we'll decide to go watch a movie that's near the marina. I know that my wife wants to see The Reader. And then we can go out to dinner, running between the rain drops.
I guess what I'm saying here is that there isn't anything definite planned. We'll just be trying to avoid getting caught in torrential rains.
It's kind of nice to have "unscheduled" plans. And go with the flow of what the moment brings. Have a good Saturday.
I hope to chat with some of you that make it by The Second Road on Sunday evening starting at 8 PM EST. It's open topic night so anything goes. Come by and share what's on your mind.

ReplyDeleteI have the same kinda day ahead, too Syd. After all the mental olymics I was doing over the job offer I guess you could say I'm blank...I think a meeting and some quality time is just what my HP has in mind for me today.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day, wherever it takes you. Thanks for sharing.
be safe syd sugar.
ReplyDeleteSyd,you are welcome to copy and past my sernity pick, prayer and the qoute that I have on my site. Mike G.said that(it's an A.A.thing)
ReplyDeleteSounds good does that Syd, you know I bet its great on your boat, I would love to go live in a mud hut in the serengetti in africa with the animals.
ReplyDeleteJust lately its getting so crap going to work then hospital then bed repeateded endlessly while there is a world out there to see
This sounds lovely. I love being below when it is raining. You are right - cozy and romantic. Have a great day hanging and being husband and wife pals.
ReplyDeleteWindy here on the third coast, too. I kinda like it.
ReplyDeleteI made the leap and joined the local Y yesterday so I may go swim today. It has a glass roof so I can see the rain WHILE swimming laps in a heated salt-water pool. I'm in a good place today...have a lazy-kind-of Saturday, Syd :-)
ReplyDeleteNamaste
Enjoy your day, Syd, but be careful. I'm following the same weather forecasts and don't take them lightly any more.
ReplyDeleteThe best Saturdays are often not planned out, for sure.
ReplyDeleteLast night hubby, my best friend (soon to ask for a divorce), and I went to see a great blues band that plays up here in CT.
I've been in many bars (that doesn't sound good!) in my lifetime due to my dad being a musician and my husband but this bar was the finest by far....like an elegant restaurant with the menu to match.
Funny because this AWESOME blues guitarist (and singer) also plays in a few dives around during the week. lol
Good times!
We had a day like that, nasty weather and nothing planned. I made meatloaf and mashed taters for dinner which Joe and I really enjoyed.
ReplyDeleteI gave you an award over yonder.
The best plans are those with little direction. I have the Reader in book form. If I can, I almost always read the book first. Unfortunately I always think the movie doesn't stand up well against the book. Having said that, I rarely take in movies based on books these days. (Hugs)Indigo
ReplyDeleteMy "weekend" is Sunday and Monday... wish I had a coast close by! Maybe I'll at least find time to... blog :-)
ReplyDelete~hugs~
