This is supposedly a ‘church signs’ debate, being played out in a Southern US town, between Our Lady of Martyrs Catholic Church, and Cumberland Presbyterian, a fundamentalist church. From top to bottom shows you the response and counter-response over time.
I like how the Catholics are portrayed as having a much better sense of humor! You get the impression that the Presbyterians are actually taking this seriously and are getting a bit upset…PS: Snopes indicates this is just internet humor, not factual. Still funny though.

this is kinda amusing... why are they doing this?
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious!!
ReplyDeleteOMG this is priceless. If there was an award for best post of the week, you would win!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, those protestants need to lighten up! Hilarious!
ReplyDeleteSyd,
ReplyDeleteThis is freaking hysterical. Thanks for posting. I had my first laugh for the morning.
Love ya,
SB
We'll see when we get there!
ReplyDeleteThey both need to read The Rainbow Bridge!
St. Peter is referred to as "The Rock" (not to be confused with WWF wrestler and Scorpion King). I think the Catholics win this witty debate..hehe
ReplyDeleteThanks fr posting that is so funny. Whatnextfoot chanting
ReplyDelete'come and have a go if y think ya hard enough'.
Exceellent man^^
Nick
What about cats? :-)
ReplyDeleteSyd,this is great.I have seen it before on someone's blog and still enjoy it! Some one should thell the Presbyterian chuch to lighten up! And yes Dogs,Cats and all other animals are God's creation, and therefore go to heaven when they die as well.Mike G. said that!
ReplyDeleteThat was hilarious!
ReplyDeleteSyd, this is just hilarious...I am so sorry that the Presbytarian church's HP has no sense of humor, I love the last one and the one about the dog soul with conversion....LOL!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you!
Gabi
I got to kristin's blog first...
ReplyDeleteGood show, SYD!
As I just said on SB's blog ... the church sign I pass frequently on the bus here reads from afar:
ReplyDeleteGOD MADE THE MALL
although of course it should read God Made Them All ... and that includes dogs. After all, dog reads god backwards!!!

This has to be the funniest thing ever!
ReplyDeleteSB sent me over here with her post... This is great! Who knew those Catholics had a sense of humor? ;)
ReplyDeleteMy dog is going to heaven. I'm just not so sure if I'll get to go meet him there myself.
ReplyDeleteI was laughing so hard by the time I got to the end of this...given some of the alleged criteria for getting through "the Pearly Gates," seems to me, the average dog qualifies more readily than some people...
ReplyDeleteIt's actually refreshing to see a little good-humored ribbing going on between the churches...they are usually so DOGmatic (no pun intended.)
ReplyDeleteWhat a riot! thanks,jeNN
ReplyDeleteThis is really interesting and (sort of) amusing. My dog is one of my BFFs so I'm not sure how I feel about dogs not going to heaven, but I definitely found this quite interesting to read. Thanks for posting it!
ReplyDeleteOMG, this made my week. I may have to steal it for a book.
ReplyDeleteAn aside, what kind of superiority complex makes a group of people fear sharing heaven with rocks and dogs? Honestly!
I am rolling on the floor, I needed a good laugh. I can so relate to this. Hee hee!!!! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHilarious! Honestly I think dogs have a better chance of gettin into heaven than any human ever did! (Hugs)Indigo
ReplyDeleteVERY funny!
ReplyDeleteis it a character defect if I always check the good stuff out on Snopes? *sigh* http://www.snopes.com/photos/signs/dogheaven.asp
ReplyDeleteNo wonder Art Linkletter's show was called "People are Funny". THEY ARE!
ReplyDeleteVery funny. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteThanks for posting. Loved it. I hope there aren't just rocks in heaven, but sticks, too. So the dogs have something to fetch.
