All dogs go to Heaven

This is supposedly a ‘church signs’ debate, being played out in a Southern US town, between Our Lady of Martyrs Catholic Church, and Cumberland Presbyterian, a fundamentalist church. From top to bottom shows you the response and counter-response over time.

I like how the Catholics are portrayed as having a much better sense of humor! You get the impression that the Presbyterians are actually taking this seriously and are getting a bit upset…

PS: Snopes indicates this is just internet humor, not factual. Still funny though.

  6. St. Peter is referred to as "The Rock" (not to be confused with WWF wrestler and Scorpion King). I think the Catholics win this witty debate..hehe

  9. Syd, this is just hilarious...I am so sorry that the Presbytarian church's HP has no sense of humor, I love the last one and the one about the dog soul with conversion....LOL!

    Hugs to you!

  11. As I just said on SB's blog ... the church sign I pass frequently on the bus here reads from afar:

    GOD MADE THE MALL

although of course it should read God Made Them All ... and that includes dogs. After all, dog reads god backwards!!!

  14. My dog is going to heaven. I'm just not so sure if I'll get to go meet him there myself.

  15. I was laughing so hard by the time I got to the end of this...given some of the alleged criteria for getting through "the Pearly Gates," seems to me, the average dog qualifies more readily than some people...

  16. It's actually refreshing to see a little good-humored ribbing going on between the churches...they are usually so DOGmatic (no pun intended.)

  17. This is really interesting and (sort of) amusing. My dog is one of my BFFs so I'm not sure how I feel about dogs not going to heaven, but I definitely found this quite interesting to read. Thanks for posting it!

  18. OMG, this made my week. I may have to steal it for a book.

An aside, what kind of superiority complex makes a group of people fear sharing heaven with rocks and dogs? Honestly!
