Heard in a meeting
I often obsessively pursue feeling good, no matter how bad it makes me feel.
When I was a newcomer, I didn't think I had any obsessions until I started thinking about it. Then it was all I could think about.
The good news is you get your emotions back; the bad news is you get your emotions back.
Women (or men) in Al-Anon can find men (or women) that the police can't find!

I never got that bad,at least i did not fall out of a car.Passedout in some bushes yes.
ReplyDeleteDear Syd - - - When I first saw the photo on this latest post, I thought, OMG, Syd has been in an accident. Then, I looked again --- this picture is that of a woman! Can't imagine what her problem is, other than it appears she may have been getting out of her car in a bit of an inebriated state- slipped and fell on her face (thank heaven). Hope she's okay now.
ReplyDeleteGlad it was not you.

I hope the photographer would have taken her car keys before she tried to drive off. I hope she doesn't think this represents the achievement of a goal. Very sad.
ReplyDeleteOH MY Mike's comment was almost as funny as the "heard in a meeting" list today!
ReplyDeleteI love the we can find people the police can't ... that is SOOOO true....
pursue it to the gates of insanity and death I will... both the alcohol and the people...
:)
Thanks for the funny (and gut-wrenchingly true) lists today!
Thank God I have a sense of humor about these things!
No matter how painful it sometimes is, I am forever grateful that today I have feelings, I am in touch with them, I can feel them and react to them. I no longer stuff them where the sun don't shine which made me sick, sick, sick.
ReplyDeleteSo for me getting my emotions back is always a good thing.

ReplyDeleteSyd, that's about the funniest line I've read this week. Obsess over my obsessions. Priceless!
I can't stop staring at that picture.
ReplyDeleteVery clever Syd! Did you snap this one? Have to go back and look to see if this is a topless woman...you really hang out in the FUN places!
ReplyDeleteNow I see...that's her top around her waist. very sad.

ReplyDeleteI am obsessed now with crown green bowling occupying my every waking thought but at last I have won my first match this season
ah yes, those pesky emotions. Can't live with them, can't live without them.
ReplyDeleteA picture says a thousand words.
ReplyDeleteOuch! Thankfully, the one time I remember being so drunk I couldn't properly enter my vehicle was a time when I was surrounded by caring friends who removed the car keys from my car and hid them from me until I sobered up. there, but for the grace of G-d, go I...
ReplyDelete*Blink* I have a similar picture of my daughter that came off her MySpace page. Thankfully in her case it was just a phase. Those were some scary times. (Hugs)Indigo

Yes ... the emotions. It took me years after coming off heroin to be able to cope with them. Still sometimes think ... omg what's that now!!! And I am a sucker for pursuit of feeling good as well, so I know what you mean about feeling bad when trying to feel good. Lots of Love Fishy x
ReplyDeleteLove the last one. That is so very true and hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI love that photo. I bet she didn't feel so hot the next morning.
