Today, we have been splitting logs from the fallen oak tree. I rented a hydraulic splitter, and so far we have split about 10 cords of wood. Much more remains to be done, but for today, we've both had enough. It is really good exercise and so far, we managed to not mash any fingers or feet. Time to get washed up and head to a meeting.
I hope that you are having a good weekend.
man, you are putting the work in today...cool perspective from under the bridge....and that ship in the fourth pic, all the sails....very cool...keep those fingers safe man...smiles.
ReplyDeletebeautiful day here...
Physical exercise is good medicine, especially when you don't mash any fingers or feet :)
ReplyDeleteWe used to burn wood for heat and I loved that. I loved bringing all the kids into the woods with a thermos of hot chocolate and the dad would cut the big rounds and the kids would run around gathering "kindling." Now we use a pellet stove...not my thing, but the dad got tired of the firewood work every winter.
ReplyDeleteI am curious about that fourth picture too. Tell us more about that if you will. :o) What kind of boat/ship is that? It looks old, historic old, not run down old.
I'm glad you had such a good couple days on the boat.
It's a modern copy of a schooner that takes passengers for cruises around the harbor. It isn't historic but copies the old 18th Century coastal trading schooners that once dotted the coast. It is USCG certified for up to 49 passengers.
DeleteSyd you have to stop torturing me with weather reports...it was 30 this morning with possible snow and a high of 40 by 3pm.
ReplyDeleteSyd, I love your dog. Every time you post pictures of her, I melt. What a sweetheart. You can also see how much she is loved!
ReplyDeleteI especially love the pics of your lab. She looks so much like my son's dog who is no longer with us. I'm glad your excursion was good for you.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the photos, I always enjoy. You have an amazing eye my friend! Your beautiful lab warms my heart, love our animals. I just wanted to pop in and say hi. Thank you again for the serenity post of photos. It was exactly what I needed today.
