Bailouts and debates

I spent a great night at home, got up early and went back in the field for a rainy day. Tonight, I'm back home and am glued to the news.

I have to admit that one of the boring things about me is that I am a news freak. And tonight I'm playing catch up on what has been going on this week. More bad news on Wall Street, more people wondering what is going on, and maybe more people waking up and taking an interest in the state of the nation.

I'll be tuned in to the debate tonight. I want to see what each candidate has to say. I want to make an informed decision. Tonight I don't feel powerless but empowered to watch and listen to what candidates for the presidency of this nation have to say. I hope that I won't be disappointed because I do have some expectations.

  1. I'll be watching the debate too. The news is sometimes depressing and when it gets too much, I just turn it off. I don't stick my head in the sand anymore, but sometimes I have to limit how much I listen. I just like to be informed.
I live in a fabulous country and am grateful for it.

  3. I just got done watching it and I suspect I felt like most did - I thought "my" candidate won. I am also a news junkie.

  4. I DVR'd the debate and will be watching it today. Although, like I told my wife, I'm not sure why as I've pretty much made up my mind who I'm voting for. I guess with my independent mind I just want to hear everyone out. Have a great weekend.

  5. I just noticed that while I am quick to debunk "reality tv" I also am a news junkie...which I guess could be said to be the ultimate REALITY TV...and especially so with the current presidential race. But I digress.

I thought the debate was a draw. I thought that neither Obama nor McCain were always answering the questions posed by JL. However in the course of things they did draw distinctions between themselves on foreign policy issues which should be helpful for voters.

  7. I commented on another blog--

The American people are, on the whole, reasoned & compassionate. We will figure it out, in spite of Washington perhaps. And like PG, I'm grateful to live where dissent is welcomed.
