On the road

I'm heading out early to drive to a meeting in Florida. It's a national meeting of research directors and is required by one of my research grants, so I have to go.

I had a good day yesterday, helping an elderly man set up his new Mac book. And then went out to dinner with some friends. It did a lot to get me out of feeling ambivalent and made me recognize (once again) how great my life is and how fortunate I am to be a part of the ups and downs that this life has to offer. I sometimes forget how great the ride is.

My wife will be here with the dogs and cats for the week. She stays busy and is now working on a new book. I admire her dedication to scholarly pursuits. She has spent a life in science and still is enthusiastic about the critters that she has studied for so many years.

I hope to make some meetings in Florida this week. And I hope to catch up on the blog postings of all of you. It's been a busy few days for me with not much time on the computer.

Wishing everyone a good Monday.

  4. I read so many of your first entries to about a year ago.

    I really see a lot of GROWTH..

    You do have a great life; and you speak with so much gentleness and appreciation for your life and your wife and others.. more and more now.

    They say we go to al-anon to grow up... (I mean that in a positive way; not a derogatory way-since we are so super responsible but in other ways still hurt children).

  6. I'm finally feeling well. (Only lingering signs of the nasty cold I had.) I wasn't able to focus enough to even be able to read blogs. I'm so glad to be able to enjoy reading and commenting again.

    Good luck on your Florida trip.

  7. Thank you for sharing Syd. It helps me to read the other side to my disease. Be careful on the road.

  8. Hey..have a great, warm, sunny, ocean-breezy trip. I can highly recommend any meetings in West Palm Beach and Jupiter. They are fun, open and really-tanned people. Be safe.

    Namaste

  9. When we get snared-up in our addictions we basically give up on the ride and, resenting every twist and turn, find ourselves cowering inside the trunk of the car, terrified to get out
    ;->...

    Thanks for the "Lemonade award". Please don't be mad at me but I'm going to pass up on the offer. I'm really not good at those.
