Heard in a meeting

"When riding the escalator of life, go ahead and put your baggage down. It's coming with you anyway."

"The three things a statement needs to be before you say it: Is it kind? Is it necessary? Is it truthful?"

"We ask for courage and strength but we don't want the situations that build them."

"There are only two kinds of advice: The kind that you must not give and the kind that no one wants to hear."

  1. Ill have to think about that last statement a little, its early in a morning here on Saturday well just gone 11 and I have crawled out of my pit.
I cant remember much of my dreams last night save a bit when this other girl (who I have never seen before) was leaving us at work and a bit about climbing mountains.
Back to work on Monday but I promise to not blog about work too much this summer,
You are a good person Syd

  6. So true all off these. One of the best lines I have ever heard was in a film. " Whats better the lie that brings a smile or the truth that brings a tear" It isn't for me to tell someone where I think they are going wrong.

  7. "The three things a statement needs to be before you say it: Is it kind? Is it necessary? Is it truthful?"

Add to that, "Am I the one who need to say it?"

  10. I'm afraid those are the kinds of advice I give only too frequently.
    Especially when un-asked, unwanted.

  11. Those are good Syd. I especially like the first one about the baggage coming along form the ride.

  13. Unfortunately, my sense of "is it necessary" is all off kilter.

I wish everyone thought this before opening ones mouth.
