Inspiration

I am looking for something inspirational to write today.  And my mind is just a blank.  So I thought that perhaps the best topic to write about would be inspiration and what gives it to me.  Here are some thoughts:
  • I am inspired when I do service work and pass on the message of the program to others.  I am delighted to see the "light bulb" go on when someone gets the message and understands.
  • I am inspired by nature and the beauty that surrounds me.  What a gift to be able to work in a field where I have seen and done so many things.  And how inspiring it has been to see these wondrous things.
  • I am inspired by kindness and compassion.  I know it when I see it.  It never ceases to make my heart and mind soar.
  • I am inspired when a "God shot" comes my way.  Those are the moments when I truly know that no matter what I do, all is well and going according to a Higher plan.  There is pure bliss in my heart and soul at those moments.
  • I am inspired when I see the program in action whereby integrity, honesty, serenity, and God's grace are present.
  • I am inspired by newcomers who have the courage to want something different than the lot that they have been accepting.  They have decided to get out of the trap of living with alcoholism and begin the work to set themselves free.
  • I am inspired by people who overcome diseases and disabilities by moving forward without self-pity and complaints.
  • I am inspired by my dogs who love me unconditionally.  That is a rare and wonderful kind of love.
  • I am inspired by those that I love.  They are in my life for a reason.  They teach me about so many things.
What do you find inspiring in your life today?

  1. --Iam inspired by birds. They fly and though I cannot (and often wish I could), they lift me out of myself where it is often dark and scary (I'm new in al-anon).
--I am inspired by this blog.
--I am inspired by every animal I've helped and that lives in my cramped apartment. I too feel the blessing of unconditional love from dogs.
--I am inspired by friends who've given and given to me, even when I refused their help.
--I am inspired by little acts of kindness wherever I see them.
--I am inspired by the homeless man, Ed, who always has a smile and wave in all kinds of weather and circumstances.

    That's it for now!

  2. I am inspired by my loved ones who never cease to amaze me.

I am inspired by the wildlife I see near my home.

I am inspired by the books in the library. A random walk through the stacks never fails to evoke a pull in me to want to read and want to write.

  4. I am inspired by those who blog daily, placing positive energy into cyberspace, which keeps me connected to the program throughout my daily and exhausting mommy duties. I am inspired by Sarah's post because her comment about birds(which also inspire me) gave me a topic for my blog post today. Many blessings,
    Marie

  6. You have a good list. For me, I am inspired by people who are real and natural. I am inspired by the changes around me that teach me to be flexible. I am inspired to continue to work the steps and work with my sponsor because it works. I am inspired by the generosity of others when they give anonymously and don't need the recognition. Actually there is more. Thanks.

  7. I am inspired by flowers that can withstand the harshness of winter and have the faithfulness to shoot up through the ground in spring. The birds who return and sing, no matter what.

  11. YEP! I'm definitely inspired by bloggers such as you, Syd.

Also good music, trios, quartets inspire me. Also works of art, and poetry. But I guess most of all--NATURE!

  13. lovely list :) I identify!

i am inspired mostly by kindness and skillfulness, and the examples of people who are much !!! farther down the path than myself who show me how far I have to go, and simultaneously how they are able to weave a life suffused with the richness of compassion and core stability with every thought and action.

  14. I am inspired by people like you, Syd. I am inspired by the beauty of spring in full bloom, and by a rainstorm complete with thunder and lightning yesterday. The power and the gentleness of nature inspire me in a way that words can only lightly touch. Thank you for inspiring us, from the paradox of your perceived lack of inspiration. Ask, and you shall receive!
